BY THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Decision No. 4159/QD-BGDDT, issued on December 6, 2023, contains the following main content:

1. Training Program and Certification for Foreigners teaching English in Vietnam:
   • Applicable target audience: foreigners who wish to teach English at language centers and informatics centers in Vietnam.
   • General objective: To develop effective, flexible, and culturally appropriate English teaching skills in the context of Vietnam.
   • Specific goal: After the training course, learners need to apply their knowledge and teaching methods and have a positive and responsible attitude and work ethic.
2. Program Content:
   • 160 teaching sessions, including 10 topics on knowledge, teaching methods, and skills, and 1 internship topic.
   • The program structure consists of 75 theory sessions and 85 practical sessions.
3. Program Implementation Guidelines:
   • The training program focuses on student-centered learning approach, using various diverse and flexible methods.
   • Training is organized both in-person and online, with a ratio of 30:70 (30% online learning time and 70% in-person learning time).
4. Evaluation and Certification:
   • Learners are evaluated through exams and internships.
   • Evaluation is based on a 10-point scale, and learners need to achieve a score of 5.0 or above to complete the program.
   • Certificates will be issued to learners who meet the requirements and successfully complete the program.
5. Requirements for Teachers and Educational Institutions:
   • Teachers must have a master's degree or higher and experience in teaching English, with a preference for experience in training foreigners.
   • Educational institutions carrying out training tasks must have the capacity and conditions to ensure quality and comply with regulations.
6. Implementation Organization:
   • The educational institution is responsible for the quality of training and reports the training results to the Ministry of Education and Training.

The decision emphasizes ensuring the quality of training and its suitability for foreign learners who want to teach English in Vietnam.
