How to properly download, install, and use VssID in Vietnam?

What is the VssID application in Vietnam?

VssID – Digital Social Insurance (VssID) is a mobile application developed by Vietnam Social Security. It is available on Google Play for Android devices and the App Store for iOS devices. The application serves as a communication channel to assist participants of social insurance and health insurance in accessing information and performing administrative procedures conveniently, easily, and quickly. It aims to gradually replace traditional social insurance records and health insurance cards.

The VssID application now supports four foreign languages in addition to Vietnamese: English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.

What is the proper way to download, install, and utilize VssID in Vietnam?

Step 1: Download VssID application on Appstore/CH Plays

Step 2: Select Register an account on VssID

Step 3: Declare registration information for electronic transactions with the social insurance agency

After entering all the information in the above screen, click Continue.

Step 4: Update personal photo, front and back CCCD/ID/Passport

You can take photos directly or upload photos of yourself, front and back CCCD/ID/Passport.

Select Continue to move to the step of selecting the social insurance agency to receive the declaration.

Step 5: Select the nearest social insurance agency to receive the declaration

At this step, you can check the box "Email declaration" if you want to receive the declaration by email.

Note: In addition to receiving declarations, this email is also used to transact and receive information from the social insurance agency.

Step 6: Print, sign, specify full name and submit the declaration

Before submitting the declaration, you can click the "Back" button to check and update the declared information. After fully and accurately updating the information, click "Send" to send the declaration to the receiving system of the social insurance agency.

Note: When submitting the application, applicant shall provide receiving official with the declaration form, sign, specify full name and provide ID card/Citizen Identity Card/passport for verification and complete the procedure.

The system will create and activate an account via electronic transactions. Approval and account details will be sent via email (if available) and SMS to the registered phone number. Users must change the provided password immediately and update it every 6 months.

If applicant fails to submit application in person at social security agencies within 10 days from the date on which declaration is submitted, the electronic declaration shall be deleted.

How to use VssID app?

When you come to hospital, you need to tell them that we want to use health insurance service, sign-in the app VssID and show them. However, before you are admitted to the hospital, you have to pay the hospital as an advance. After completing the discharge procedures, the hospital will make a health insurance application to reimburse some expenses (in the list of expenses covered by health insurance).
